Job Description:

We're helping our client find a Senior Technical Analyst to define business, data and processing requirements, facilitate user acceptance testing, and conduct training activities for business intelligence implementations. This person will also ensure new functionality is accurately and appropriately integrated into installed components of the business intelligence architecture. This person will also act as a primary interface between the technical team and the business. Specifically, this resource will be working with Business Analysts on the Lease Servicing team on the Leasewave upgrade by creating technical specifications from business requirements. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gathers, validates and documents business requirements for business intelligence implementation projects; determines functionality required to meet requirements and articulates integration required for the existing business intelligence (BI) environment

  • Assists in the translation of business requirements into a logical data model.

  • Understands business processes and facilitates re-engineering activities, as necessary.

  • Determines appropriate analysis tasks and activities with minimal direction; provides realistic level of effort estimates to project manager.

  • Queries data and assists in data profiling activities.

  • Conducts analysis and build ad-hoc queries for end user requests; supports end users during business hours or as needed

  • Serves as a liaison between the Information Technology (IT) business intelligence team and the internal clients.

  • Assists in source definition for the data warehouse attributes.  Maps attributes to source including identification and documentation of transformation algorithms as necessary.

  • Develops end-user testing strategy and testing plans.  Leads business clients in end-user testing efforts for both major business intelligence releases and minor enhancement releases.

  • Coordinates and conducts all project-related training using the business intelligence front-end report/query product.

  • Assists in mentoring other technical staff members in bank business processes.

Knowledge and Skills

  • 3-5 years of IT experience

  • 3-5 years developing understanding of basic business intelligence issues and concepts, preferably in banking or financial services industry; or appropriate combination of education and experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of identifying and documenting business requirements in a business intelligence environment.

  • Demonstrated outstanding analytical, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Hands on experience with BI tools, such as report writers and cube technology

  • Intermediate skills with SQL, Toad or other query tools.

  • Intermediate skills in Joint Application Design (JAD) facilitation or other requirements gathering techniques.

  • Basic understanding of ETL, Cognos, and Tableau dashboards

  • Experience developing and conducting training

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Other Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of banking and of lending terminology.

  • Occasional travel required.

  • Availability for occasional work outside normal business hours.
